thursday things

{ I always insist on taking I’m-standing-in-the-middle-of-the-street shots }

This weekend I am enjoying some time away in New York City. It’s definitely no St. Thomas, but it is still nice to enjoy an afternoon that isn’t studded with the rain clouds we’ve been seeing in Michigan. I’ve always enjoyed traveling, even if it’s just to get away for a couple of days. It helps to change up perspective, relax a bit (sometimes), and gather inspiration from different cities or cultures. Vacations also help us to better appreciate the people and things we have at home–there’s nothing quite like sleeping in your own bed after a long time away. Here’s to a weekend of city-slicking (hopefully not in my rain slicker), and to plenty of good eats. I hope you all have a nice, relaxing couple of days as well!

{ A natural magazine clipping that I put in a contrasting gold frame — I made it special by writing Galatians 5:1, a reminder that we are free in Christ }

{ Perfectly pink lipstick from Yves Saint Laurent }
