northern exposure

These are just a few of the shots from our trip to northern Michigan last weekend. Needless to say, it was beautiful. We have been blessed with a warm October this year!

Crystal Mountain Ski Resort; quite the hike without a chairlift!

Arcadia, MI

I love it when they don't fly away on me!

Frankfort, MI

Girlie…You are an artiste!!!!!! Beautiful, funny, one heckuva writer and a truly gifted photographer. Now, what will you do with your gifts? I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!!!

  2. My husband and I went to Traverse City a couple weeks back for my birthday and we hiked with our friends to the beach. When we got there we found a monarch butterfly with its wings wrapped in seaweed! It was stuck and could not fly :( We untangled its wings very gently and watched it fly away, it was so magical!

  3. Amazing photos! I want to go to Michigan right now.

  4. My husband and I are from Minneapolis. We’ve talked about taking a trip to Michigan this year. (Never been). Is there one place you would recommend for someone looking for a fun weekend with great scenery? Thanks.
    Great photos btw!

    • Hi! I would definitely suggest the Traverse City area, it’s probably the most popular. Wineries, water, sand dunes and good food–you can’t go wrong. Anything in northwest Michigan is a pretty safe bet though…Petosky and Grand Haven are also very cute towns on Lake Michigan. I love Michigan! Please let me know where you go or contact my email if you would like some more info :)
