Oats in a smoothie? Sure, why not. A dash of cinnamon, old-fashioned oats, and creamy yogurt make for a sweet, yet wholesome smoothie; the perfect energizing start for an active summer day.
(From Martha Stewart – Makes 1 smoothie)
1/4 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup plain or low-fat yogurt
1 banana, sliced into thirds
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp. honey, to sweeten
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
Add milk, yogurt, honey, banana, oats, and cinnamon to a blender. Blend until smooth and serve immediately. Add 1 or 2 ice cubes to chill, if necessary. Garnish with ground cinnamon. Enjoy!
